NURSERY: Our nursery is located on the ground level, opposite
the rest rooms at the bottom of the stairs. The nursery is available for
children from two weeks to four years of age. It is available during
both worship services and the Sunday School hour.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Classes are available for all age levels and are
located on the second floor of the educational area adjacent to the
Sanctuary. Special activities are also scheduled from time to time.
QUIET AREA: This area is located in the Library on the main
level. It is designed for parents who need a place to take their
children for brief periods before returning to worship. The area
provides some resources for quiet activity: books, coloring pages and
activity sheets. PARENTS MUST REMAIN WITH THEIR CHILDREN IN THIS AREA!
INCLUSION IN WORSHIP: We strive to make our children an important
part of both our worship services. Children are invited to a special
children’s time, during which the message of the day is expressed in
terms that children can understand. During the children’s time in the
Traditional service, they collect loose change to donate to missions,
making them an important part of the outreach ministry of the church.
ACTIVITY SHEETS: These sheets, coordinated with the message of
the day, are provided at both services. Parents who attend the New Day
service will find them on the information table. Children are given the
sheets during the children’s time at the Traditional service. They
provide developmentally appropriate activities for children to do during
the service which allows them to explore the message of the day in terms
that they can understand.
ACTIVITY BAGS: Parents should look for these bags at the
entrances to our worship sites. They include quiet activities that
children can do during the services.
NEW BEGINNINGS JUNIOR CHURCH PROGRAM: New Beginnings is a time
for children to worship in an age appropriate setting. The children
learn Bible stories, sing songs, pray and participate in other active
learning experiences. New Beginnings is held on the ground level
immediately following the children’s time in the Traditional service.
Any child between the ages of 5 – 11 is welcome to attend.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR: The Children’s Choir is open to kids in grades
2-6. The Choir meets weekly during the school year for rehearsal. They
present special music, composed for the young voice, to both worship
services on an occasional basis. |
